"...george, i'm telling you, it's a lousy back up catcher, crummy first base platoon, no starter to eat up innings, an inexperienced conditiong staff that injures players, and a weak bench in general. if you want to get things going, tell cashman to spend some of your money and get some good role players for joe. besides getting coffee for you when you're around, what else did you hire him for?"

JACKIE ROBINSON DAY-APRIL 15

POSADA'S AMAZING DURABILTY

"We are all adults here," said Jorge Posada, who like a lot of players works out with a personal trainer. "We know what we have to do to get ready."

from peter abraham,"... and Jorge Posada are three of six players with 10 years of Major League service time who have never been on the disabled list."

how a catcher goes ten years without being on the disabled list with all the foul tips, collisions at the plate, running to back up first on ground balls, the up and down of every pitch, all the intensity of throwing on steals, and the general fatigue that goes with catching is beyond comprehension.
combining the two quotes above makes me think that jorge might know a few things about conditioning. maybe it'd be a good idea for the yankees to take a close look at what he does and see if they can pick up something from his approach to pass on to other players.
oh damn, i forgot, he's actually played the game so that disqualifies him from actually knowing anything.
